Physiotherapy Services in Abergavenny
We run the service from Harrow in north-west London; there is no Abergavenny premises to walk into. Sessions take place in your own home, and the clinician assigned to you may be travelling in from elsewhere. We can only confirm a visit once we know your full postcode and which therapists are free when you get in touch.
Abergavenny is a market town in Monmouthshire, often called the gateway to Wales. It is ringed by hills, with the Sugar Loaf, the Blorenge and the Skirrid all visible from the town, and the River Usk running along its southern edge.
Castle Meadows, between the castle ruins and the river, is wide and flat, which makes it one of the best local places to practise walking after a joint replacement or a fall. Linda Vista Gardens nearby offers shorter paths and plenty of seating.
The Victorian Market Hall hosts regular markets and the annual food festival fills the town centre. Being able to walk round the market again is a goal we hear often, and we plan practice around crowds, uneven floors and standing time.
Abergavenny is served by Aneurin Bevan University Health Board. Nevill Hall Hospital is in the town, while emergency and major surgical care is usually at the Grange University Hospital near Cwmbran. Private home physiotherapy can follow once someone is discharged.
The housing mix ranges from Georgian and Victorian terraces near the centre to newer estates on the edges of town and in Llanfoist. Stairs, narrow halls and bathroom access vary widely, so each programme starts with a look at your own home.
The hills are a big part of life here, and some people hope to walk on the lower slopes of the Sugar Loaf again. We break that down into stages, starting with the level towpath of the Monmouthshire and Brecon Canal at Llanfoist.
Rain is common in the Usk valley, so we always keep an indoor version of each exercise for days when going out is not sensible.

Specialist home-based rehabilitation to improve movement, strength, balance and independence for people living with neurological conditions.

Helping older adults maintain mobility, strength and independence safely at home.

Safe, structured recovery after surgery to restore strength, mobility and function at home.
