Physiotherapy Services in North West
This is the North West region page for Home Physio And Rehab. Its job is to point you to the right hub: Manchester & Cheshire, or Liverpool & Lancashire. Each hub explains in more detail how home physiotherapy works in its part of the region, and town pages will be added beneath them over time.
We have no clinic or branch in the North West. Home Physio And Rehab is registered in Harrow, north-west London, and arranges physiotherapy as home visits only. A physiotherapist may travel some distance to reach you, so please read the place names on this page as a description of geography rather than a promise. The postcode checker tells you what is actually possible for your address.
The Manchester & Cheshire hub takes in Greater Manchester's ten boroughs, Manchester, Salford, Stockport, Trafford, Tameside, Oldham, Rochdale, Bury, Bolton and Wigan, together with Warrington and the Cheshire towns of Chester, Crewe and Macclesfield. It ranges from city-centre apartments beside the Metrolink to Pennine mill villages and Cheshire farmland.
The Liverpool & Lancashire hub covers Merseyside, including Liverpool, the Wirral, Sefton, Knowsley and St Helens, then runs north through Lancashire's coastal and mill towns, Preston, Blackpool, Blackburn, Burnley and Lancaster, towards Carlisle. Cumbria was reorganised in 2023 into two councils, Cumberland and Westmorland and Furness, and much of it, particularly the Lake District, is sparsely populated and difficult to reach.
The North West is linked by the M6, M62 and M60, but door-to-door travel is still slow at peak times, and in the hills and lakes the roads are narrow and winding. That is one reason we ask for a full postcode rather than a town name when someone enquires.
Housing here has its own character. Red-brick terraces built for cotton and dock workers line the streets of Oldham, Bolton, Blackburn and Bootle, usually with a steep staircase straight up from the front door and a small back yard. Victorian villas in Southport or Didsbury, new-build estates outside Warrington, and stone cottages near Ambleside each need a different approach. A physiotherapist working in your home can practise on the very stairs and doorsteps that worry you, rather than on clinic equipment.
Home Physio And Rehab is independent and not part of the NHS. People often come to us after an admission to a Manchester or Liverpool hospital, or when NHS community therapy has finished and they want to keep making progress. We work within your hospital team's advice and are glad to fit around any care you already have.
