Physiotherapy Services in Aviemore
We run the service from Harrow in north-west London; there is no Aviemore premises to walk into. Sessions take place in your own home, and the clinician assigned to you may be travelling in from elsewhere. We can only confirm a visit once we know your full postcode and which therapists are free when you get in touch.
Aviemore is the main town of Badenoch and Strathspey, in the heart of the Cairngorms National Park. It grew around the railway and later as a winter sports resort, and Grampian Road is its long main street.
The Strathspey Railway runs steam trains from Aviemore to Broomhill, and a trip is a popular goal for people regaining confidence on platforms and in carriages.
Rothiemurchus and Loch Morlich offer forest paths, some flat and some rough. We pick the flattest routes first, such as the track around Loch an Eilein, before longer walks.
Aviemore is within NHS Highland. The Badenoch and Strathspey Community Hospital is in the town, and major surgery and emergency care are usually at Raigmore in Inverness. Private home physiotherapy can continue after discharge.
Many residents work outdoors in tourism, forestry or mountain sports, and returning to that work is often the main goal after an injury.
Housing includes older houses near the station and newer estates at Dalfaber. We tailor exercises to the stairs and space you have.
Winters bring snow and ice, so we keep an indoor routine ready and add outdoor walking when paths are safe.
Craigellachie National Nature Reserve rises directly behind the village, with birchwood paths and a small lochan near the start. The lower trail passes under the A9 in a short tunnel and is reasonably gentle, so it sits nicely between pavement walking on Grampian Road and the rougher forest tracks around Glenmore.
