Physiotherapy Services in Baildon
We run the service from Harrow in north-west London; there is no Baildon premises to walk into. Sessions take place in your own home, and the clinician assigned to you may be travelling in from elsewhere. We can only confirm a visit once we know your full postcode and which therapists are free when you get in touch.
Baildon is a hillside town in Bradford district, rising steeply above the River Aire opposite Shipley and the World Heritage Site of Saltaire. Baildon Moor, an area of open moorland above the town, has prehistoric cup and ring marked rocks, and Shipley Glen, with its little Victorian tramway, sits on its edge.
Steep streets climb from Lower Baildon to the village centre around the Ian Clough Hall and beyond to the moor. Homes range from old stone cottages and terraces to Victorian villas and post-war semis. Many houses have steps at the front and steep stairs inside, and hills feature in almost every walk.
Baildon station is on the Wharfedale line, with trains to Bradford and Ilkley. Saltaire, across the river, has level paths along the canal and River Aire and in Roberts Park, making it a good place for walking practice. Buses run to Shipley and Bradford.
West Yorkshire Integrated Care Board plans NHS services, with Bradford Royal Infirmary and Airedale General Hospital serving the area. Our private home physiotherapy continues recovery after discharge.
The bus up Station Road and the walk from the village centre to the moor edge give natural graded targets, and families often join a session to learn how to help on the steepest stretches.
The Ian Clough Hall is named after the Baildon-born climber who died on Annapurna in 1970, and the Shipley Glen Tramway, opened in 1895, is one of the oldest working cable tramways in Britain. Baildon Golf Club’s course spreads across the moor itself, so walkers and golfers share the open ground and its views over Airedale and Wharfedale.
