Ballymoney is a market town in north County Antrim, in the Causeway Coast and Glens council area. It is best known around the world as the home of the motorcycle racer Joey Dunlop, who won a record number of races at the Isle of Man TT before his death in 1999. The Joey Dunlop Memorial Garden in the town is visited by fans from across Ireland and beyond.
His brother Robert and Robert’s sons also became racing champions, and road racing remains part of local identity. Ballymoney itself is a compact town, with a mix of Victorian and modern buildings along Main Street, Church Street and High Street, and a strong farming tradition in the surrounding countryside.
Drumaheglis Marina, on the River Bann just west of the town, has riverside paths, picnic areas and a caravan park. The town is fairly level, with gentle slopes on some streets. Ballymoney station on the Belfast to Derry line has trains to Coleraine and Belfast, and buses link the town with the Causeway coast.
The Northern Health and Social Care Trust provides health and social care, with most emergencies and surgery at the Causeway Hospital in Coleraine or Antrim Area Hospital. The Robinson Hospital in Ballymoney offers some local services. Our private home physiotherapy fits alongside that care after discharge.
Goals often include walking to the shops on Main Street, visiting Drumaheglis or getting the train to Coleraine. Many patients live in bungalows or two-storey houses on the edges of town, where stairs and getting in and out of the car are common challenges.

Rehabilitation of bones, joints, muscles and ligaments following injury, surgery or degenerative change.

Support to improve breathing, endurance and recovery for respiratory and cardiac conditions.

Helping people living with persistent or complex pain improve function and quality of life.
