Physiotherapy Services in Beaumaris
We run the service from Harrow in north-west London; there is no Beaumaris premises to walk into. Sessions take place in your own home, and the clinician assigned to you may be travelling in from elsewhere. We can only confirm a visit once we know your full postcode and which therapists are free when you get in touch.
Beaumaris is a small town on the Isle of Anglesey, facing the mountains of Snowdonia across the Menai Strait. Its castle, begun by Edward I in 1295, is a World Heritage Site, and the old gaol and courthouse are open to visitors.
The seafront green and the pier are level and have plenty of benches, which makes them excellent for early walking practice. The views across the Strait are a bonus.
Castle Street, the main street, has shops and cafes and is fairly flat. Walking along it is often the first outdoor goal we set.
Beaumaris is within Betsi Cadwaladr University Health Board. Surgery and emergency care are usually at Ysbyty Gwynedd in Bangor, and private home physiotherapy can carry on afterwards.
Many homes are Georgian and Victorian terraces with steep stairs. We practise those stairs and the steps up from the pavement.
The coast road to Penmon and the lighthouse is a popular later goal, with the walk around Penmon Point offering rougher ground.
Wind off the Strait can be strong, so we plan sheltered routes and keep indoor exercises ready for poor weather.
The Beaumaris lifeboat station and the town's sailing clubs give the seafront a busy feel in summer. The Bulkeley Hotel stands above the green, and the walk from the pier to Castle Street and back is a manageable loop with benches looking out to the mainland, ideal for people building confidence after an operation. Henllys Hall golf course sits on the hill above town, and the Gazelle on the Glyn Garth shore looks across to Bangor pier.
