Builth Wells is a small market town in mid Wales on the River Wye, best known as the home of the Royal Welsh Show at Llanelwedd. Outside show week it is a peaceful rural centre.
The town's main street, with its shops and cafes, is compact and mostly level. We often use it for early outdoor walking practice.
The Groe is a riverside park with a flat path along the Wye, popular with walkers. It is a great place to build stamina and confidence before moving to hillier routes.
Builth Wells falls within Powys Teaching Health Board. Many patients have surgery at district general hospitals in neighbouring areas or across the border, and home physiotherapy can pick up when they return.
The Royal Welsh Show each July draws huge crowds. Walking around the showground means hours on grass, so we plan specific preparation if you want to attend.
Homes include stone cottages, terraced houses and farms. We adapt exercises to your home, stairs and outdoor areas.
Rural lanes around Builth often lack pavements, so we can practise safe walking on verges and uneven surfaces if needed.
Mid Wales weather is changeable, so every plan has an indoor component.
The Wyeside Arts Centre, in the old Market Hall by the bridge, shows films and holds concerts through the year. Its seats, steps and foyer make a useful real-world test after a hip or knee operation, and the six-arched Wye bridge beside it is a short, level walk from most of the town centre.

Reducing the risk of falls and improving safe, confident movement at home and in the community.

Assessment and treatment of the pelvic floor to support bladder, bowel and core function.

Supporting people living with or recovering from cancer to rebuild strength and quality of life.
