Physiotherapy Services in Burry Port
We run the service from Harrow in north-west London; there is no Burry Port premises to walk into. Sessions take place in your own home, and the clinician assigned to you may be travelling in from elsewhere. We can only confirm a visit once we know your full postcode and which therapists are free when you get in touch.
Burry Port is a harbour town in Carmarthenshire on the Loughor estuary, west of Llanelli. In 1928 Amelia Earhart landed nearby as the first woman to fly across the Atlantic, and a memorial by the harbour marks the event.
The harbour, with its small white lighthouse and marina, is a pleasant and level place for early walks. Circling the basin is a common first target after an operation.
The Millennium Coastal Path runs through the town, flat and well surfaced, east towards Llanelli and west towards Pembrey Country Park. It is ideal for walking a little further each week, and many people also use it to return to cycling.
Pembrey Country Park has woodland paths, open grass and a long sandy beach at Cefn Sidan. These give more varied ground once you are steady on your feet.
Burry Port is covered by Hywel Dda University Health Board, with most surgery at Prince Philip Hospital in Llanelli or Glangwili in Carmarthen. Home physiotherapy can pick up when you are back.
Station Road and the town centre shops are fairly compact. Practising getting to the shops, carrying a bag and coming home again builds everyday independence.
Housing includes Victorian terraces with steep stairs and modern estates. We adapt exercises to your home layout.
Estuary weather can be wet and windy, so indoor exercises are always part of the plan.
Pembrey Harbour Road, the Memorial Hall and the green by the old copperworks site give short loops close to the shops. The RNLI station by the harbour wall holds open days that many families enjoy, and standing on the slipway watching a launch is a cheerful target for someone recovering from a fall.

Reducing the risk of falls and improving safe, confident movement at home and in the community.

Assessment and treatment of the pelvic floor to support bladder, bowel and core function.

Supporting people living with or recovering from cancer to rebuild strength and quality of life.
