Physiotherapy Services in Clackmannan
We run the service from Harrow in north-west London; there is no Clackmannan premises to walk into. Sessions take place in your own home, and the clinician assigned to you may be travelling in from elsewhere. We can only confirm a visit once we know your full postcode and which therapists are free when you get in touch.
Clackmannan is the old county town of Scotland's smallest county. Its medieval tower, once linked to Robert the Bruce, stands on King's Seat Hill above the town and can be seen across the Forth.
The Main Street climbs gently towards the Tolbooth, the mercat cross and the ancient Clach Mannan stone set on a tall plinth. A walk to the stone and back makes a clear early milestone.
Gartmorn Dam Country Park, north of the town, has a level path around a reservoir built in the eighteenth century to power local mines. One lap is roughly four kilometres, so it is easy to add a section at a time.
The climb up to Clackmannan Tower is short but steep. It is a good later target once balance and leg strength are back.
Clackmannan is covered by NHS Forth Valley. Most operations take place at Forth Valley Royal Hospital in Larbert, and the Clackmannanshire Community Healthcare Centre in Sauchie offers some local services.
Homes are a mix of former miners' cottages, council houses and newer estates towards Alloa. Narrow stairs and low steps into back gardens are common, and we practise on your own.
Windy, wet days off the Forth are frequent, so each programme has an indoor version too.
The Black Devon river flows past the southern edge of town, and the old Alloa to Kincardine railway now carries freight again after being reopened. Clackmannan Primary and the Town Hall host community groups, and the walled churchyard of the parish kirk has firm paths for a short, sheltered stroll. Locals often combine shopping trips with visits to Alloa, so practising getting in and out of a car or bus is a regular part of our work here.
