Physiotherapy Services in Crickhowell
We run the service from Harrow in north-west London; there is no Crickhowell premises to walk into. Sessions take place in your own home, and the clinician assigned to you may be travelling in from elsewhere. We can only confirm a visit once we know your full postcode and which therapists are free when you get in touch.
Crickhowell is a small town on the River Usk in the Bannau Brycheiniog National Park, beneath the flat-topped hill locals call Table Mountain. The hill carries the remains of an Iron Age fort, Crug Hywel, which gave the town its name.
The stone bridge over the Usk is famous for having a different number of arches on each side. The riverside meadow beside it is flat and grassy, ideal for practice once you are walking more confidently.
The High Street has an unusual number of independent shops and won awards for it. Its pavements are narrow in places, so we often practise navigating busy spots and kerbs.
The ruins of Crickhowell Castle stand in a small park just off the centre. The gentle mound is useful for slopes training without going far from home.
Crickhowell is in Powys but close to the Aneurin Bevan health board area. Many residents have surgery at the Grange University Hospital in Cwmbran or care at Nevill Hall Hospital in Abergavenny.
Homes are often old stone cottages with steep stairs or modern houses on the hillsides. We look at access, steps and bathroom layout during the first visit.
The Monmouthshire and Brecon Canal at Llangattock has a level towpath that suits longer walks later in recovery.
Festival weekends fill the town, and steady footwork among crowds becomes a worthwhile practical skill.

Rehabilitation of bones, joints, muscles and ligaments following injury, surgery or degenerative change.

Support to improve breathing, endurance and recovery for respiratory and cardiac conditions.

Helping people living with persistent or complex pain improve function and quality of life.
