Physiotherapy Services in Cwmbrân
We run the service from Harrow in north-west London; there is no Cwmbrân premises to walk into. Sessions take place in your own home, and the clinician assigned to you may be travelling in from elsewhere. We can only confirm a visit once we know your full postcode and which therapists are free when you get in touch.
Cwmbrân was designated in 1949 as the first new town in Wales, and it is now the largest town in Torfaen. Its covered shopping centre is one of the biggest in the country, and the town was laid out as a series of neighbourhoods, each with its own small shops, linked by footpaths and underpasses.
Housing ranges from 1950s terraces in Pontnewydd and Oakfield to the 1960s and 70s estates of Fairwater, Greenmeadow and St Dials, and newer homes at Llantarnam. The town sits on the side of a valley, so many paths and roads slope steadily, and a number of homes have steps up from the street.
The Monmouthshire and Brecon Canal runs along the western side of Cwmbrân, with a towpath that through Five Locks and Pontnewydd is a flat, peaceful practice route. Llantarnam Abbey grounds and the lake at Cwmbrân Boating Lake near Llanyravon give shorter circuits with seats for people building up gradually.
The Grange University Hospital at Llanfrechfa, on the edge of Cwmbrân, is the specialist critical care centre for the area and is run by Aneurin Bevan University Health Board, which also provides community services. County Hospital in Griffithstown offers rehabilitation beds. Our home physiotherapy is private and independent of the health board.
Cwmbran station on the Newport to Abergavenny line, and the bus station beside the shopping centre, connect the town with Newport and Pontypool. Getting back to the shopping centre independently, or managing the slopes between neighbourhoods, is one of the most common goals people set with us here.

Rehabilitation of bones, joints, muscles and ligaments following injury, surgery or degenerative change.

Support to improve breathing, endurance and recovery for respiratory and cardiac conditions.

Helping people living with persistent or complex pain improve function and quality of life.
