Physiotherapy Services in Dumfries
We run the service from Harrow in north-west London; there is no Dumfries premises to walk into. Sessions take place in your own home, and the clinician assigned to you may be travelling in from elsewhere. We can only confirm a visit once we know your full postcode and which therapists are free when you get in touch.
Dumfries is the largest town in the south-west of Scotland and the administrative centre of Dumfries and Galloway. Known as the Queen of the South, it sits on the River Nith, and Robert Burns spent his final years here; his house and mausoleum are both in the town.
The River Nith divides the old burgh on the east bank from Maxwelltown and Troqueer on the west. Red sandstone buildings line the centre, while Lochside, Lincluden and Georgetown have larger post-war estates and Heathhall and Locharbriggs stretch out to the north-east. Rural households around the town can be a long way from shops and services.
The Whitesands along the riverbank and the Dock Park further downstream give flat walking with places to sit, and the old Devorgilla Bridge and the suspension footbridge make useful practice for slopes and uneven surfaces. The grounds of the Crichton estate offer longer, quieter routes once stamina has improved.
Dumfries and Galloway Royal Infirmary, opened on its current site at Cargenbridge in 2017, is run by NHS Dumfries and Galloway and is the main hospital for the region. Community rehabilitation is arranged by the local Health and Social Care Partnership. Our service is private and independent of these bodies, and any discharge summary you can share helps us plan the first visit.

Rehabilitation of bones, joints, muscles and ligaments following injury, surgery or degenerative change.
