Physiotherapy Services in Dunoon
We run the service from Harrow in north-west London; there is no Dunoon premises to walk into. Sessions take place in your own home, and the clinician assigned to you may be travelling in from elsewhere. We can only confirm a visit once we know your full postcode and which therapists are free when you get in touch.
Dunoon is the main town on the Cowal peninsula, facing Gourock across the Firth of Clyde. It became a popular resort when paddle steamers brought day trippers from Glasgow.
The promenade runs along the shore from the West Bay to Kirn and Hunter's Quay. It is flat and ideal for walking practice with views across the water.
Castle House Museum stands on a hill above the pier, with a statue of Highland Mary, the sweetheart of Robert Burns. The path up is short but steep.
Argyll Street has shops and cafes in the centre. Short trips here help people regain independence.
Cowal Community Hospital provides local care, but many patients travel to Inverclyde Royal Hospital in Greenock or Glasgow hospitals for surgery.
Homes include Victorian villas with steep stairs and modern flats. We assess access and stairs during visits.
The ferry crossing to Gourock is a key link, and practising boarding is a valued goal.
Benmore Botanic Garden, north along the Holy Loch, has a famous avenue of giant redwoods planted in 1863 and a mix of steep and gentle tracks. The Cowal Highland Gathering in late August draws pipe bands and huge crowds to Dunoon Stadium. The Queen's Hall, rebuilt beside the pier, hosts concerts, the library and community groups. Western Ferries sail from Hunter's Quay to McInroy's Point, while the passenger ferry leaves from the town pier. Retired sailors, teachers and incomers from Glasgow make up much of the community, and many enjoy bowls or sea swimming at the Morag's Fairy statue beach.

Reducing the risk of falls and improving safe, confident movement at home and in the community.

Assessment and treatment of the pelvic floor to support bladder, bowel and core function.

Supporting people living with or recovering from cancer to rebuild strength and quality of life.
