Physiotherapy Services in Grangemouth
We run the service from Harrow in north-west London; there is no Grangemouth premises to walk into. Sessions take place in your own home, and the clinician assigned to you may be travelling in from elsewhere. We can only confirm a visit once we know your full postcode and which therapists are free when you get in touch.
Grangemouth grew as a port at the eastern end of the Forth and Clyde Canal, where it meets the River Carron and the Firth of Forth. It became one of Scotland's main industrial towns, with docks and a large petrochemical complex on its eastern side. The town itself is mostly flat, which helps when building up walking after an operation or illness.
Housing is largely twentieth-century: interwar and post-war council houses, four-in-a-block flats and several tower blocks, alongside private estates and bungalows. Bowhouse, Kerse and Glensburgh are typical residential areas. Lifts, communal stairs and doorsteps are often the main obstacles, and we plan around the exact layout of your home.
Zetland Park, with its war memorial and wide paths, is the most popular local walking goal. La Porte Precinct is the main shopping area. The Helix park and the Kelpies, the giant horse-head sculptures between Grangemouth and Falkirk, are a favourite longer target, with level paths beside the canal. Grangemouth has no passenger station, so buses to Falkirk and Larbert are the main links.
NHS Forth Valley provides hospital care, with Forth Valley Royal Hospital in Larbert as the main acute site. Community rehabilitation is coordinated through the Falkirk Health and Social Care Partnership. We visit independently and are glad to continue any exercises you were given after discharge.
