Physiotherapy Services in Halesworth
We run the service from Harrow in north-west London; there is no Halesworth premises to walk into. Sessions take place in your own home, and the clinician assigned to you may be travelling in from elsewhere. We can only confirm a visit once we know your full postcode and which therapists are free when you get in touch.
Halesworth is a small market town in north-east Suffolk, set on the River Blyth. Its pedestrianised Thoroughfare, lined with independent shops, makes the centre unusually pleasant to walk through without traffic.
The Thoroughfare is narrow but level, with a gentle rise towards the market place. A short walk from one end to the other, with a stop at a cafe, is a good early outdoor goal after a hospital stay.
The Millennium Green, a large area of meadows and riverside paths, lies just off the town centre. Its mown grass and gravel tracks suit balance practice on slightly uneven ground once walking is steady.
Halesworth Airfield, at Holton to the east, was a Second World War American bomber base. Its small museum attracts visitors, and the flat lanes around it make useful longer walking routes later on.
The Cut, an arts centre in a converted maltings building, hosts concerts and films. Getting there for an evening event is a common social goal, especially for people who have been housebound after surgery.
Halesworth station sits on the East Suffolk line between Ipswich and Lowestoft. Managing the footbridge and the train step is something we practise before a first trip to see family.
The Patrick Stead Hospital in the town provides community care. Most planned orthopaedic surgery takes place at the James Paget in Gorleston or at Ipswich, and rehabilitation then continues at home.
Homes range from medieval timber-framed houses with steep, winding stairs to modern estates on the Holton Road side. We assess stair rails, bathrooms and seating height during the first visit.
Wenhaston, Wissett and Walpole are quiet villages in the surrounding farmland. Many homes there are isolated cottages with gravel paths, which we include in practical outdoor walking practice.

Assessment and treatment of the pelvic floor to support bladder, bowel and core function.

Supporting people living with or recovering from cancer to rebuild strength and quality of life.

Personalised, evidence-based nutrition and dietetic support delivered in the comfort of your home by an HCPC-registered dietitian.
