Henley-in-Arden is a small market town in Warwickshire, once at the heart of the Forest of Arden. Its long High Street is lined with timber-framed buildings and is a designated conservation area.
The High Street is nearly a mile long and fairly level, with shops, cafes and pubs along it. Walking from the Guildhall to the parish church is a good early outdoor target for many patients.
The Mount, just east of the High Street, is the site of a Norman castle. The slope up to it offers hill practice and good views over the town once walking on the flat feels secure.
Henley ice cream has been made in the town for generations, and a visit to the ice cream parlour is a popular goal for families. We often use such outings to build confidence and stamina.
Henley-in-Arden station is on the line between Birmingham and Stratford-upon-Avon. Practising the footbridge and platform steps helps people feel ready to travel for appointments or family visits.
Most planned surgery for the area takes place at Warwick Hospital, the Alexandra in Redditch or Stratford Hospital. We continue rehabilitation once people return to Henley and the villages around.
Homes in the town centre are often older timber-framed houses with steep, narrow stairs. Newer estates on the edges usually have easier layouts but may still have steps or awkward bathrooms.
Wootton Wawen, just south, has a canal aqueduct on the Stratford Canal. The towpath there is level and pleasant, making it a good later route for building walking stamina.
Beaudesert and Ullenhall are small villages around the town. Homes there are often detached with long gardens, and we include gardening tasks in practical rehab goals.

Expert assessment and treatment of muscle, joint, bone and soft tissue (MSK) conditions at home.

Helping active people recover from sports injuries and safely return to sport and performance.

Rehabilitation of bones, joints, muscles and ligaments following injury, surgery or degenerative change.
