Physiotherapy Services in Hereford
Home Physio And Rehab is based in Harrow, north-west London, and has no clinic or office in Hereford. Every appointment is a home visit, and the physiotherapist who visits you may be based elsewhere and travel to your home. Whether we can see you depends on your postcode and on therapist availability at the time you ask.
Hereford is a cathedral city on the River Wye, close to the Welsh border, and the main centre for Herefordshire's large rural area. Hereford Cathedral, home to the Mappa Mundi, stands near the river, and the compact centre around High Town is mostly level. The surrounding countryside is known for orchards, cider and cattle.
Homes include Georgian and Victorian terraces near the centre, post-war estates at Whitecross, Newton Farm and Belmont, larger houses in Tupsley and Hampton Park, and newer developments at Holmer and Bobblestock. Many people live in villages outside the city and rely on the car. We adapt practice to each home and situation.
Castle Green and Bishops Meadow beside the Wye have level riverside paths, and the Victoria footbridge links the two banks. Goals often include walking into High Town, managing the bus, getting back to driving or walking by the river. We plan each goal in realistic stages, starting with movement around the home.
Hereford County Hospital is the main hospital for the area. We are independent of it and of the NHS, so please share your discharge summary and any precautions when we first talk. We then build a home programme around your recovery from surgery, a stroke, a fall or illness.
Hereford is a cathedral city on the River Wye, home to the Mappa Mundi and the Chained Library. The area around High Town is pedestrianised and largely level. Bishop's Meadow and the Victoria Bridge offer riverside walking, and the Old Market shopping area is close by. Many older residents live in villages across rural Herefordshire as well as in the city itself. We begin with exercises indoors, then build towards a walk by the Wye or into High Town at a pace that matches recovery. The Old House, a timber-framed Jacobean building, stands in High Town, and Hereford United and later Hereford FC have played at Edgar Street for generations.
