Physiotherapy Services in Holywell
We run the service from Harrow in north-west London; there is no Holywell premises to walk into. Sessions take place in your own home, and the clinician assigned to you may be travelling in from elsewhere. We can only confirm a visit once we know your full postcode and which therapists are free when you get in touch.
Holywell, or Treffynnon in Welsh, takes its name from St Winefride's Well, a place of pilgrimage for well over a thousand years. The shrine sits at the bottom of a steep hill below the town centre.
The High Street runs along the ridge above the valley and is largely level, with shops, cafes and benches. It makes a sensible early outdoor route before tackling the slopes down towards the well.
Greenfield Valley Heritage Park follows the stream from the well down to the Dee estuary. Its paths pass old mill ponds and the ruins of Basingwerk Abbey, and the gentle gradient suits steady walking practice.
Many homes in the town are older terraces on sloping streets, with steep internal stairs and steps at the front. Newer estates around the edges usually have easier layouts but still need access checks.
Betsi Cadwaladr University Health Board covers the area, with planned surgery often at Wrexham Maelor or Glan Clwyd. Holywell Community Hospital also provides local care for some patients.
Greenfield sits on the coast road beside the estuary, with flat ground near the dock. Walking along the shore path there is a useful step for people building range after a hip or knee operation.
Carmel and Brynford are hilltop villages above the town, often windy and exposed. Patients there may need to manage long sloping drives and bus stops on open roads, so we practise both.
Pantasaph, with its Franciscan friary and woodland paths, is a quiet destination for walks. Its uneven tracks belong to later sessions once balance and confidence on mixed ground have returned.
Bagillt and Lloc lie along the A55 corridor towards Flint and St Asaph. Many residents commute or shop by car, so getting in and out of a car safely is often one of the first goals.

Reducing the risk of falls and improving safe, confident movement at home and in the community.

Assessment and treatment of the pelvic floor to support bladder, bowel and core function.

Supporting people living with or recovering from cancer to rebuild strength and quality of life.
