Physiotherapy Services in Hyde
We run the service from Harrow in north-west London; there is no Hyde premises to walk into. Sessions take place in your own home, and the clinician assigned to you may be travelling in from elsewhere. We can only confirm a visit once we know your full postcode and which therapists are free when you get in touch.
Hyde is a Tameside town at the foot of the Pennines, on the eastern edge of Greater Manchester. It grew around cotton mills along the River Tame and the Peak Forest Canal, and the clock-towered town hall still stands at the heart of the centre. To the south, the land rises sharply towards Werneth Low, a country park with views across the city.
Housing in Flowery Field and Newton is largely Victorian terraces, many with a step onto the street and a steep stair, while Gee Cross has older stone cottages and Godley and Hattersley have post-war estates, including the large overspill estate built for Manchester families. We plan exercises around the type of house you live in. Gee Cross, up the hill on Stockport Road, keeps its old Unitarian chapel and cobbled lanes, so uneven setts and kerbs often feature in outdoor practice for people living there.
Hyde Park, the Peak Forest Canal towpath and the paths around Werneth Low Country Park are all good walking goals, from easy to challenging. The market and Clarendon Square shops are common errands. Hyde Central and Hyde North stations, and Newton and Godley stations, link to Manchester and Glossop.
Tameside General Hospital in Ashton-under-Lyne provides most hospital care, and some specialist services are in Stockport or Manchester. NHS services are planned by NHS Greater Manchester, the Integrated Care Board for the area. We visit independently and are happy to continue the exercises you were given before discharge.
