Physiotherapy Services in Kilmarnock
We run the service from Harrow in north-west London; there is no Kilmarnock premises to walk into. Sessions take place in your own home, and the clinician assigned to you may be travelling in from elsewhere. We can only confirm a visit once we know your full postcode and which therapists are free when you get in touch.
Kilmarnock is the largest town in East Ayrshire, long associated with textiles, engineering and the whisky blending that made the Johnnie Walker name famous. The town centre is compact, with a pedestrianised core around the Burns Mall and Foregate, and Rugby Park, home of Kilmarnock FC, sits just to the west.
Housing ranges from sandstone tenements and terraces close to the centre to post-war estates such as Onthank, Shortlees and Bellfield, and newer developments at New Farm Loch. Many homes have a short flight of steps at the front door, and several districts sit on gentle hills that make the return trip from the shops harder than the outward one.
Dean Castle Country Park on the north-east edge of town is a favourite target for rehabilitation. Its surfaced paths along the Fenwick and Craufurd waters let people start with a short circuit near the visitor area and walk a little further week by week. The Kay Park, with its Burns monument, offers a closer and flatter option.
University Hospital Crosshouse, just outside the town and run by NHS Ayrshire and Arran, is where many Kilmarnock residents are treated after a fracture, stroke or planned operation. Community rehabilitation is arranged through the East Ayrshire Health and Social Care Partnership. We are a private service, separate from both, and we are glad to read any discharge letters or exercise plans you have been given.
