Physiotherapy Services in Kirkintilloch
We run the service from Harrow in north-west London; there is no Kirkintilloch premises to walk into. Sessions take place in your own home, and the clinician assigned to you may be travelling in from elsewhere. We can only confirm a visit once we know your full postcode and which therapists are free when you get in touch.
Kirkintilloch calls itself the canal capital of Scotland, and the Forth and Clyde Canal passes right through the middle of the town, with a basin and boatyard near the centre. Boats were once built here and launched sideways into the water. Today the towpath is one of the best rehabilitation routes in East Dunbartonshire: flat, well surfaced and easy to divide into short sections.
The town sits on a rise above the Luggie Water, and the Antonine Wall ran along the ridge where Peel Park now stands. Houses range from sandstone villas and cottages near the Cross and Townhead to post-war estates in Hillhead and Harestanes and newer private developments at Woodhead and Merkland. Many family homes have steep, narrow stairs that need practice after surgery.
Peel Park, with its views over the Kelvin valley, and the Auld Kirk Museum are common goals for local walks. Cowgate and the town centre shops are the usual practical destinations. There is no railway station in the town itself, so people often want to manage buses into Glasgow or the walk to Lenzie station, and we can include bus steps and timings in a programme.
Hospital care for the area is provided by NHS Greater Glasgow and Clyde, and community rehabilitation is coordinated by the East Dunbartonshire Health and Social Care Partnership. We visit independently and can follow on from any physiotherapy you started in hospital, sharing progress with your family if you would like.

Specialist care for women through pregnancy, after birth and beyond.

Reducing the risk of falls and improving safe, confident movement at home and in the community.

Assessment and treatment of the pelvic floor to support bladder, bowel and core function.
