Physiotherapy Services in Lichfield
We run the service from Harrow in north-west London; there is no Lichfield premises to walk into. Sessions take place in your own home, and the clinician assigned to you may be travelling in from elsewhere. We can only confirm a visit once we know your full postcode and which therapists are free when you get in touch.
Lichfield is a small cathedral city in south-east Staffordshire, known for the only medieval English cathedral with three spires. The centre is compact, with Market Square, Bore Street and Dam Street close together, but some surfaces are uneven and the Close around the cathedral has older paving. Samuel Johnson was born here, and his birthplace museum stands on the market square.
Two of the most useful practice routes are the paths around Minster Pool and Stowe Pool. Both are fairly level, have benches and give a clear target, such as walking round one pool before tackling both. Beacon Park, west of the centre, has wide paths and open grass. Many people recovering from a joint replacement start with a short loop and build up week by week.
Outside the centre the housing is mostly suburban. Boley Park and Darwin Park are estates from the 1980s onwards with two-storey family homes, Leomansley has older semis, and Streethay and Fradley have expanded quickly with new-build houses. There are also several retirement developments near the centre. Lichfield City station has frequent trains to Birmingham on the Cross City line, and Trent Valley serves the West Coast line, so some people want to manage a train journey again.
The Samuel Johnson Community Hospital in the city provides some outpatient and community services, while most acute surgery and emergency care for the area takes place at hospitals in Burton, Sutton Coldfield or Walsall, depending on where you live. Local NHS services are planned by the Staffordshire and Stoke-on-Trent Integrated Care Board. Bring any discharge paperwork to the first visit and we will fit our plan around it.

Reducing the risk of falls and improving safe, confident movement at home and in the community.

Assessment and treatment of the pelvic floor to support bladder, bowel and core function.

Supporting people living with or recovering from cancer to rebuild strength and quality of life.
