Physiotherapy Services in Milnrow
We run the service from Harrow in north-west London; there is no Milnrow premises to walk into. Sessions take place in your own home, and the clinician assigned to you may be travelling in from elsewhere. We can only confirm a visit once we know your full postcode and which therapists are free when you get in touch.
Milnrow is a former weaving town in the borough of Rochdale, tucked under the Pennine moors where the River Beal runs down from Ogden. Rows of millstone grit terraces and a few surviving mill chimneys give it a typical South Pennine look.
The poet Tim Bobbin, who wrote in Lancashire dialect, lived and taught here in the eighteenth century, and his name still turns up on local signs and pubs. Dale Street and the area around St James's church hold most of the shops.
Hollingworth Lake, built as a feeder reservoir for the Rochdale Canal, lies just north of the town. Its shoreline path is fairly even and has cafes and benches, which makes a circuit or part of one a popular target for people rebuilding stamina.
Milnrow is part of NHS Greater Manchester Integrated Care Board. Hospital care is mostly at the Royal Oldham Hospital, with some outpatient services at Rochdale Infirmary, and our private sessions at home can follow straight on.
Many homes are two-up two-down stone terraces with steep stairs, front steps onto the pavement and a bathroom squeezed in upstairs. Newer estates at Firgrove and Belfield have easier layouts but often sloping drives.
The Metrolink tram stops at Milnrow and Newhey, and junction 21 of the M62 sits right beside the town. Stepping on and off the tram confidently is a practical goal we sometimes build into sessions.
Newhey, further up the valley towards Ogden reservoir, is more exposed to Pennine wind and rain. Good footwear and balance work matter before walking out on wet, steep pavements.

Reducing the risk of falls and improving safe, confident movement at home and in the community.

Assessment and treatment of the pelvic floor to support bladder, bowel and core function.

Supporting people living with or recovering from cancer to rebuild strength and quality of life.
