Physiotherapy Services in Omagh
We run the service from Harrow in north-west London; there is no Omagh premises to walk into. Sessions take place in your own home, and the clinician assigned to you may be travelling in from elsewhere. We can only confirm a visit once we know your full postcode and which therapists are free when you get in touch.
Omagh is the county town of Tyrone and sits where the Camowen and Drumragh rivers join to form the Strule. The town has a long main street climbing from the river towards the courthouse, and it serves as a centre for a large rural area of the Sperrins and west Tyrone.
Many older residents live in terraced houses along the streets leading off the High Street, often with stairs straight from the door. Campsie, Strathroy and Killyclogher have post-war estates and family homes, and newer housing has spread along the Gortin Road. Rural households around the town can be a long way from shops and services.
The riverside walk along the Strule, close to the town centre, is level and well used, making it a good first outdoor goal. The Grange Park and the paths near the leisure centre offer short circuits, and the Gortin Glen forest park further north gives longer routes for people who are further on.
The South West Acute Hospital in Enniskillen provides most emergency and surgical care, and the Omagh Hospital and Primary Care Complex offers some local services. Both are managed by the Western Health and Social Care Trust, which also arranges community rehabilitation. Our private service is independent of the Trust, and we welcome any discharge information.
Bus services link Omagh with Derry, Belfast and Enniskillen, and the main street shops are a popular short-walk goal. Many people here want to get back to driving, to manage the hill up the High Street, or to cope with the step at the front of an older terraced house.
