We can only confirm a visit once we know your full postcode and which therapists are free when you get in touch.
Porthcawl is a seaside town in Bridgend County Borough on the south Wales coast. It is known for its beaches, the Elvis festival held each September and the Royal Porthcawl golf course. The town has a large population of retired people, many of whom moved here from the valleys.
The town centre has Victorian and Edwardian terraces around John Street, while Nottage and Newton are older villages with stone cottages that have been absorbed into the town. West Park and Danygraig have newer estates, and bungalows and retirement flats line many of the roads close to the seafront.
The promenade from the harbour and lighthouse towards Rest Bay is level, wide and has lots of benches, so it is a favourite rehabilitation goal. Locks Common has grassy cliff-top paths, and the Wales Coast Path continues towards Kenfig for those ready for longer, more uneven walks.
The Princess of Wales Hospital in Bridgend, run by Cwm Taf Morgannwg University Health Board, provides most emergency and surgical care for Porthcawl residents, and the same health board arranges community services. Our home physiotherapy is private and independent of the health board, and we welcome your discharge information.
Buses link Porthcawl with Bridgend and Pyle station, and the John Street shops are a common short-walk goal. People often want to walk the prom with friends again, manage the slope down to the harbour, or cope with the stairs in a traditional seaside terrace.

Rehabilitation of bones, joints, muscles and ligaments following injury, surgery or degenerative change.
