Physiotherapy Services in Radcliffe
We run the service from Harrow in north-west London; there is no Radcliffe premises to walk into. Sessions take place in your own home, and the clinician assigned to you may be travelling in from elsewhere. We can only confirm a visit once we know your full postcode and which therapists are free when you get in touch.
Radcliffe is a mill town in the Metropolitan Borough of Bury, set in a bend of the River Irwell. Cotton spinning, paper making and coal mining shaped its growth, and the ruin of Radcliffe Tower, a medieval fortified house, still stands near the parish church. The town centre has been undergoing regeneration in recent years.
Terraced houses dominate the older streets close to the river, many with steep stairs and a step or two straight onto the pavement. Further out, Ainsworth, Stand Lane and Black Lane have semi-detached homes and bungalows, some with long front gardens and drives that slope down to the road.
Radcliffe stop on the Metrolink Bury line gives trams to Manchester city centre, and buses link the town with Bury, Bolton and Whitefield. Close Park, beside the Irwell, and the Outwood Trail on the old railway line give flat routes, while the Irwell Sculpture Trail passes through for those wanting a longer goal.
The Greater Manchester Integrated Care Board oversees NHS services, and many residents are treated at Fairfield General Hospital in Bury, with some going to Bolton instead. Our private home physiotherapy is separate from those services but happy to follow on from them.
Older people in Radcliffe often worked in mills and factories, and many now live with arthritis, chest problems or reduced balance. We focus on getting safely up and down stairs, out to the Metrolink stop and round the shops on Blackburn Street.

Rehabilitation of bones, joints, muscles and ligaments following injury, surgery or degenerative change.
