Physiotherapy Services in Shepton Mallet
We run the service from Harrow in north-west London; there is no Shepton Mallet premises to walk into. Sessions take place in your own home, and the clinician assigned to you may be travelling in from elsewhere. We can only confirm a visit once we know your full postcode and which therapists are free when you get in touch.
Shepton Mallet is a market town in Somerset at the foot of the Mendip Hills, east of Wells. It grew wealthy on the wool and cloth trade and later became known for brewing and cider-making.
The Market Place is overlooked by a medieval market cross, and the former prison, once the oldest working prison in England, now offers tours. Babycham was first produced in the town by the Showering family.
Collett Park, a Victorian park with a bandstand and level paths, lies on the north side of town. Kilver Court gardens sit beneath the towering railway viaduct of the old Somerset and Dorset line.
Housing includes stone cottages and terraces on steep lanes in the old town, Victorian villas, post-war estates and newer homes on the edges. Hills and steps are a real factor in planning.
NHS Somerset Integrated Care Board commissions care. Shepton patients are usually treated at the Yeovil District Hospital or the Royal United Hospital in Bath, with some care at Shepton Mallet Community Hospital, and we continue rehabilitation at home.
Buses run to Wells, Frome and Bristol, and Castle Cary is the nearest station. Typical aims include walking to the Market Place, round Collett Park or to the Royal Bath and West Showground events.
Collett Park's paths are level and close to the centre, which makes it a dependable first outdoor walk after surgery.
The steep lanes between the Market Place and the valley are best tackled later, once slopes have been practised.

Assessment and treatment of the pelvic floor to support bladder, bowel and core function.

Supporting people living with or recovering from cancer to rebuild strength and quality of life.

Personalised, evidence-based nutrition and dietetic support delivered in the comfort of your home by an HCPC-registered dietitian.
