Physiotherapy Services in Silloth
We run the service from Harrow in north-west London; there is no Silloth premises to walk into. Sessions take place in your own home, and the clinician assigned to you may be travelling in from elsewhere. We can only confirm a visit once we know your full postcode and which therapists are free when you get in touch.
Silloth is a small town in Cumberland on the shore of the Solway Firth. It was built in the 1850s as a port and seaside resort when the railway arrived from Carlisle.
The town's greatest asset is Silloth Green, a broad lawn between the houses and the sea. Its long straight paths are flat and open, making it a perfect place for walking practice.
Across the Solway, the hills of south-west Scotland, led by Criffel, fill the view. Sunsets over the firth are famous and a pleasant reason to get outside.
The docks still operate, and a large flour mill stands beside the harbour. The streets nearby are level and laid out in a neat grid, which helps with planning walks.
Acute care for the area is provided at the Cumberland Infirmary in Carlisle. Once home, you can continue rehabilitation with us rather than making the journey back.
Many houses are Victorian terraces with steps up to the door and tall staircases. We practise these features in every session so you feel safe at home.
Skinburness, just north, is a small settlement on a shingle spit reaching into the firth. The coast road there is quiet and almost completely flat.
Blitterlees lies to the south, close to the golf links and sand dunes. Walking on the dune paths is tiring and is kept for the later stages of recovery.
Abbeytown, inland, takes its name from the ruins of Holme Cultram Abbey. Clients there enjoy short walks around the abbey church and village roads.
Allonby, along the coast, and Wigton, the market town to the east, complete the area. Wigton has the larger shops, and a trip there is something many clients look forward to.

Specialist home-based rehabilitation to improve movement, strength, balance and independence for people living with neurological conditions.

Helping older adults maintain mobility, strength and independence safely at home.

Safe, structured recovery after surgery to restore strength, mobility and function at home.
