Physiotherapy Services in Skipton
We run the service from Harrow in north-west London; there is no Skipton premises to walk into. Sessions take place in your own home, and the clinician assigned to you may be travelling in from elsewhere. We can only confirm a visit once we know your full postcode and which therapists are free when you get in touch.
Skipton, the gateway to the Yorkshire Dales, is a market town in North Yorkshire whose broad High Street hosts busy street markets several days a week. Skipton Castle, at the top of the High Street, is one of the most complete and best-preserved medieval castles in England, and Holy Trinity church stands beside it.
The Leeds and Liverpool Canal runs through the town, with boats moored in the basin and the short Springs Branch passing beneath the castle walls. Homes range from stone terraces and cottages near the centre to newer estates on the outskirts at Greatwood and Horse Close. Many older houses have steep stairs and steps outside.
Skipton station has trains to Leeds and Bradford on the Airedale line and is close to the Settle–Carlisle line. The canal towpath and Aireville Park offer flat walks, while the hills around the town provide longer-term goals.
West Yorkshire Integrated Care Board plans NHS services for the Craven area, with Airedale General Hospital at Steeton providing acute care and Skipton General Hospital offering local services. Our private home physiotherapy continues recovery after discharge.
Hill farmers, quarry workers and retired walkers make up much of the older population, and many have a strong wish to be back on the market or out at Embsay within weeks rather than months.
Skipton Woods, a narrow strip of ancient woodland running behind the castle along Eller Beck, has firm paths that make a sheltered short walk close to the High Street. The Craven Museum, in the restored town hall, displays local finds, and a few minutes away at Embsay the heritage steam railway runs towards Bolton Abbey, a favourite day out for families and grandparents.

Reducing the risk of falls and improving safe, confident movement at home and in the community.
