Physiotherapy Services in St Davids
We run the service from Harrow in north-west London; there is no St Davids premises to walk into. Sessions take place in your own home, and the clinician assigned to you may be travelling in from elsewhere. We can only confirm a visit once we know your full postcode and which therapists are free when you get in touch.
St Davids is the smallest city in Britain, set near the western tip of Pembrokeshire. It owes its status to the cathedral, built on the site of a monastery founded by Saint David, the patron saint of Wales.
The cathedral sits in a hollow below the city, reached by a flight of steps known as the Thirty-Nine Articles. The descent and climb are a real test, so we approach them carefully.
Beside the cathedral stand the ruins of the Bishop's Palace, a grand medieval building. The close around them has grassy paths that are fairly level.
Cross Square, at the top of the city, holds shops, cafes and galleries. Its pavements are mostly level, making it a good place to start walking outdoors.
Major operations for this area are carried out at Glangwili in Carmarthen or further afield, with Withybush Hospital in Haverfordwest for local care. Home physiotherapy saves long journeys afterwards.
Many homes are traditional stone cottages with small rooms and a stone step at the entrance. We fit exercises to these spaces so they can be done every day.
St Non's, on the cliffs south of the city, has a holy well and a ruined chapel. The path there is short but uneven in places.
Porthclais, a tiny harbour to the south-west, and Whitesands Bay, to the north-west, are favourite spots by the sea. The Pembrokeshire Coast Path links them.
Solva, along the coast to the east, is a pretty village around a sheltered inlet. Its harbourside is level, while the streets above are steep.
Caerfarchell, Croesgoch and Llanrhian are small rural communities on the peninsula. Clients there often start with practice around the house and farmyard.
