Physiotherapy Services in St Helens
Home Physio And Rehab is based in Harrow, north-west London, and has no clinic or office in St Helens. Every appointment is a home visit, and the physiotherapist who visits you may be based elsewhere and travel to your home. Whether we can see you depends on your postcode and on therapist availability at the time you ask.
St Helens grew on glassmaking and coal, and terraced streets around the town centre, Parr and Thatto Heath still have steep stairs and small back yards. Eccleston and Rainford have larger semis and detached houses, Newton-le-Willows and Haydock have their own centres and newer estates, and Billinge sits on a hill above the surrounding countryside. Bungalows and sheltered housing are common across the borough.
The ground is mostly gently rolling, with a few steep stretches around Billinge and Eccleston. Sherdley Park, Victoria Park and the Sankey Valley trail offer level or gently sloping walks, and many people want to manage the bus into town or the walk to the local shops again. We build those routes into the plan once indoor walking feels secure.
Many St Helens residents are treated at Whiston Hospital, which is just over the border in Knowsley, while St Helens Hospital is used for planned operations and outpatient clinics. We are not connected to either or to the NHS, so please share your discharge letter and any precautions so we can follow them.
St Helens built its fortunes on glassmaking and coal, and the Pilkington name still appears across the town. Neighbourhoods such as Thatto Heath, Parr, Sutton and Rainford each keep their own parades of shops, so a realistic early target is often the trip to a nearby chemist or post office rather than the town centre itself. Victoria Park, with its mansion and bowling greens, is a popular place to sit outside and gradually walk further. Rugby league is woven into local life, and getting back to a match at the Totally Wicked Stadium, with its ramps, turnstiles and terrace steps, is a goal some people set for later in their recovery.

Rehabilitation of bones, joints, muscles and ligaments following injury, surgery or degenerative change.
