Physiotherapy Services in Steyning
We run the service from Harrow in north-west London; there is no Steyning premises to walk into. Sessions take place in your own home, and the clinician assigned to you may be travelling in from elsewhere. We can only confirm a visit once we know your full postcode and which therapists are free when you get in touch.
Steyning is a small downland town beneath the South Downs, in the Horsham district of West Sussex. It was an important Saxon port on the River Adur before the river silted up.
Its High Street and Church Street are lined with timber-framed and flint buildings, some dating from the fifteenth century. Pavements are narrow in places, so we plan walks carefully.
St Andrew's Church, with its massive Norman arches, stands at the eastern end of the town. The churchyard and nearby recreation ground offer level paths.
The town is surrounded by the South Downs National Park, with Steyning Bowl and Chanctonbury Ring above. Their chalk tracks are a challenging goal for later in recovery.
People in Steyning are often treated at Worthing Hospital or Southlands Hospital in Shoreham. Our team can continue your care at home after discharge.
Many homes are old cottages with uneven floors and steep stairs. Newer houses on the edges of town are usually easier to move around.
Bramber, just east, has the ruins of a Norman castle on a mound. The path up is short but steep, a good target for fitter clients.
Upper Beeding lies across the Adur, with the Downs Link path following an old railway nearby. Its level surface is ideal for steady walks.
Ashurst and Wiston are small villages to the north and west among farmland and woods. Their lanes are quiet but lack pavements.
Small Dole and Botolphs lie along the river valley. Botolphs has a Saxon church beside the South Downs Way.
