Tickhill is a small town in the City of Doncaster, near the borders with Nottinghamshire. It has a history stretching back to Norman times, when a castle was built here.
The castle mound, surrounded by a moat, still stands on the southern side of the town. It is privately owned but opens occasionally to visitors.
The Buttercross, a domed market cross, stands at the centre where the main streets meet. The streets around it are fairly level and good for short walks.
St Mary's Church, with its tall tower, is one of the finest in South Yorkshire. Its churchyard paths are quiet and close to the centre.
Hospital care for Tickhill is mainly provided at Doncaster Royal Infirmary. Home physiotherapy then helps you continue your recovery.
The mill dam, a pond near the centre, is home to ducks and swans. The level path around it is a favourite short walk.
Many homes are old stone cottages and Georgian houses, with newer estates around the edges. We plan exercises to suit each home.
Wadworth and Stainton lie to the north and west among farmland. Their quiet roads suit steady walks.
Styrrup and Harworth lie to the south in Nottinghamshire. Harworth has shops and newer housing.
Remains of an Augustinian friary founded in the thirteenth century survive on the western fringe of Tickhill. Each summer the gala fills the streets, and following its procession route is a goal several residents set themselves.
Maltby, to the west, and Bawtry, to the east, are larger towns with more services. Travelling to them is a common later goal.

Helping people living with persistent or complex pain improve function and quality of life.

Specialist care for women through pregnancy, after birth and beyond.

Reducing the risk of falls and improving safe, confident movement at home and in the community.
