Physiotherapy Services in Uddingston
We run the service from Harrow in north-west London; there is no Uddingston premises to walk into. Sessions take place in your own home, and the clinician assigned to you may be travelling in from elsewhere. We can only confirm a visit once we know your full postcode and which therapists are free when you get in touch.
Uddingston is a town in South Lanarkshire on the north bank of the River Clyde, between Glasgow and Hamilton. It is best known as the home of Tunnock's, whose caramel wafers and teacakes have been made in the town since the late nineteenth century.
Main Street runs through the centre with independent shops, cafés and the Tunnock's tearoom. The ruins of a thirteenth-century fortress stand on a bend of the Clyde just across from the town, reached by the riverside path from Bothwell.
The Clyde Walkway follows the river past Uddingston, with stretches through woodland that are pleasant but sometimes uneven. Strathclyde Country Park, a short drive east, has a large loch with level, surfaced paths around it.
Homes include red sandstone villas and terraces near Main Street, tenement flats, post-war council housing in Viewpark and newer estates on the edges of town. Tenements often mean several flights of shared stairs.
Uddingston is covered by NHS Lanarkshire, with community care through the South Lanarkshire Health and Social Care Partnership. People are usually treated at University Hospital Hairmyres or University Hospital Wishaw, and we provide private physiotherapy at home alongside that care.
Uddingston station is on the line between Glasgow Central and Motherwell, and buses run along Main Street to Glasgow and Hamilton. Typical goals include getting to the Tunnock's tearoom, catching a train from Uddingston station or strolling beside the Clyde.
For people living in upper tenement flats, stair practice is often the first priority, so we break the climb into stages with rest points on each landing.
The loch path at Strathclyde Country Park is flat and long, which makes it ideal for building stamina before trying the rougher riverside sections near Bothwell.

Specialist care for women through pregnancy, after birth and beyond.

Reducing the risk of falls and improving safe, confident movement at home and in the community.
