Physiotherapy Services in Uppingham
We run the service from Harrow in north-west London; there is no Uppingham premises to walk into. Sessions take place in your own home, and the clinician assigned to you may be travelling in from elsewhere. We can only confirm a visit once we know your full postcode and which therapists are free when you get in touch.
Uppingham is one of two market towns in Rutland, England's smallest historic county. It sits on a ridge above the Welland valley, built largely from warm golden ironstone.
Uppingham School, founded in 1584, occupies many buildings around the town centre. Its chapel and old schoolroom are among the finest buildings in the county.
The Market Place hosts a weekly market and is surrounded by old inns and shops. Its paving is fairly level, which suits gentle walking practice.
High Street East and West form the spine of the town, with independent bookshops, galleries and cafés. Some pavements are narrow, so we practise steadiness near traffic.
Rutland Memorial Hospital in Oakham provides some local services, while operations are often carried out in Leicester or Peterborough. We bring your rehabilitation to your door.
Rutland Water lies a short drive north, with a level cycle and walking path around much of its shore. Clients building stamina often aim to walk a stretch of it.
Many homes in the old centre are ironstone cottages with steep stairs and low doorways. Newer houses on the edge of town give more space for exercise.
Lyddington, to the south, is a pretty village with the medieval Bede House, once a bishop's palace. Its main street is wide and quiet.
Ayston and Bisbrooke are small villages close to the town. Seaton overlooks the Welland viaduct, a long brick railway bridge.
Wardley and Preston lie among the gentle hills to the north and west. Lanes there are quiet but often lack pavements.
Many clients here are active retired people who enjoy walking and gardening. We help them return to those activities after injury or surgery.

Helping people living with persistent or complex pain improve function and quality of life.

Specialist care for women through pregnancy, after birth and beyond.

Reducing the risk of falls and improving safe, confident movement at home and in the community.
