Physiotherapy Services in Warrenpoint
We run the service from Harrow in north-west London; there is no Warrenpoint premises to walk into. Sessions take place in your own home, and the clinician assigned to you may be travelling in from elsewhere. We can only confirm a visit once we know your full postcode and which therapists are free when you get in touch.
Warrenpoint is a small seaside town in County Down, at the head of Carlingford Lough. The Mourne Mountains rise behind it and the Cooley Mountains face it across the water, giving it one of the most striking settings in Ireland. Its large central Square hosts markets and events, and the town is known for the Maiden of the Mournes festival.
The promenade along the lough shore is flat, with benches and views across to Omeath and the Cooleys. Narrow Water Castle, a tower house guarding the river crossing, stands on the edge of town. Warrenpoint Port, one of the busiest in Northern Ireland, is a major employer.
The town is fairly level near the shore, with streets climbing towards Burren and the hills behind. Housing ranges from Victorian terraces and villas to post-war estates and newer homes. Rostrevor and Kilbroney Park are close by, and buses link Warrenpoint with Newry.
The Southern Health and Social Care Trust provides health and social care, with most patients going to Daisy Hill Hospital in Newry or Craigavon Area Hospital for surgery and emergencies. Our private home physiotherapy fits around that care after discharge.
Patients often want to get back to a walk along the promenade, the shops around the Square or a trip to Rostrevor. Steeper streets towards Burren need extra hill practice, and some people want to manage the Newry bus on their own again.
On the road towards Rostrevor, the Kilbroney Park forest drive climbs to the Cloughmore Stone, a huge granite boulder that legend says the giant Finn McCool hurled across the lough. Hardy local swimmers use the slipways along the front all year, and the Square fills each summer for the Blues on the Bay festival.
