Physiotherapy Services in Westerham
We run the service from Harrow in north-west London; there is no Westerham premises to walk into. Sessions take place in your own home, and the clinician assigned to you may be travelling in from elsewhere. We can only confirm a visit once we know your full postcode and which therapists are free when you get in touch.
Westerham is a small market town in the far west of Kent, close to the Surrey border. It lies in the valley of the River Darent beneath the North Downs.
The sloping green at the centre has statues of two famous figures linked with the town. One is Sir Winston Churchill, whose home at Chartwell lies just south.
The other statue is of General James Wolfe, who grew up in Westerham and died capturing Quebec in 1759. His childhood home, Quebec House, is now run by the National Trust.
The green slopes noticeably, so walking across it is a good test of balance. The pavements around it are narrow in places.
Chartwell, Churchill's family home, has gardens, lakes and woodland paths. Its gentler routes make a lovely outing later in recovery.
Surgery for Westerham residents usually takes place at the Princess Royal University Hospital in Farnborough or at Pembury. Our physiotherapists visit you at home afterwards.
Squerryes Court, a seventeenth-century manor, stands in parkland on the southern edge of town. The River Darent rises in its grounds.
Many homes are old cottages and town houses with steep stairs, while newer houses lie on the edges of town. We adapt exercises to each home.
Crockham Hill and Toys Hill sit high on the Greensand Ridge to the south. Their lanes are steep, narrow and often wooded.
Brasted, to the east, is a village with antique shops. Hosey Hill and Moorhouse are small communities nearby, with Biggin Hill on the downs to the north.
Many clients here enjoy walking in the countryside. We build strength and balance so they can return to the hills safely.
