Aldridge is a town in the Metropolitan Borough of Walsall in the West Midlands, north-east of Walsall town centre. It began as a small village and grew rapidly in the twentieth century while keeping a recognisable village core.
St Mary's Church and the old village green area anchor the centre, and the Square and Anchor Parade hold shops and cafés. The Daw End Branch Canal passes nearby, giving quiet towpath walks.
Barr Beacon, one of the highest points in the West Midlands, lies to the south-west and offers wide views across the region. Cuckoo's Nook and the Dingle local nature reserve are close to the town centre.
Housing is mostly inter-war and post-war semis and detached homes, with bungalows, newer estates and some older cottages. Many larger homes have long drives and front steps.
NHS Black Country Integrated Care Board commissions care. Aldridge patients are usually treated at Walsall Manor Hospital, and we provide private physiotherapy at home after discharge.
Buses run to Walsall, Sutton Coldfield and Birmingham, and a new station is planned on the Walsall to Sutton Park line. Common goals include walking to the village shops, along the canal or up to Barr Beacon.
The canal towpath near Aldridge is level and peaceful, so it works well for building stamina after surgery.
Barr Beacon has a car park close to the viewpoint, which makes it a rewarding target even for people with limited walking range.
The Aldridge Centre on Anchor Parade, the library and the walk past St Mary's towards the Croft give useful everyday routes, and Walsall Wood's canal arm offers a quieter second stretch once the first towpath walks feel comfortable.

Reducing the risk of falls and improving safe, confident movement at home and in the community.

Assessment and treatment of the pelvic floor to support bladder, bowel and core function.

Supporting people living with or recovering from cancer to rebuild strength and quality of life.
