Physiotherapy Services in Brownhills
We run the service from Harrow in north-west London; there is no Brownhills premises to walk into. Sessions take place in your own home, and the clinician assigned to you may be travelling in from elsewhere. We can only confirm a visit once we know your full postcode and which therapists are free when you get in touch.
Brownhills is a former mining town in the north of the Walsall borough, on the edge of the Black Country and close to Cannock Chase. Its stainless steel miner statue, known locally as Jigger, stands proudly at the end of the High Street.
Chasewater Country Park, just across the boundary, has a large reservoir, heathland, a heritage railway and level lakeside paths. Brownhills Common and the Wyrley and Essington Canal offer further walks.
The High Street provides shops and services, and recent regeneration has brought new housing and a supermarket. Clayhanger, nearby, has its own common and wetland areas.
Homes include miners' terraces, post-war estates and newer developments. Many have stairs, and some older homes have steep, narrow staircases.
NHS Black Country Integrated Care Board commissions care. Brownhills patients are usually treated at Walsall Manor Hospital, and we provide private physiotherapy at home after discharge.
Buses link Brownhills with Walsall, Lichfield and Cannock. Goals include walking along the High Street, around Chasewater or along the canal.
Holland Park, Brownhills Library and the Silver Court shops near the High Street are other places patients like to reach again, and the Chasewater Railway gives a gentle day out once walking is more secure. Walsall Wood, with its own shops and canal bridge, offers a shorter local route. The tall miner statue at the canal end of the High Street is a landmark many patients use as a halfway marker, and Chasewater Country Park just over the border gives a longer lakeside goal once confidence returns.
