Physiotherapy Services in Alsager
We run the service from Harrow in north-west London; there is no Alsager premises to walk into. Sessions take place in your own home, and the clinician assigned to you may be travelling in from elsewhere. We can only confirm a visit once we know your full postcode and which therapists are free when you get in touch.
Alsager is a town in Cheshire East close to the Staffordshire border, a few miles north-west of Stoke-on-Trent. It grew from a small village into a commuter town after the railway arrived in the Victorian era.
The Mere gives the town its watery centrepiece, and Milton Park, with its playground, sports pitches and level paths, is the main green space. The Salt Line, a disused railway turned into a walking and cycling trail, runs out towards Hassall Green and the Trent and Mersey Canal.
Crewe Road and Lawton Road hold the main shops, cafés and the library, and Christ Church stands near the centre. The former university campus on Hassall Road has given way to new housing in recent years.
Homes range from Edwardian villas and inter-war semis to large post-war estates and modern developments. Bungalows are common on the quieter avenues, which suits many older patients well.
NHS Cheshire and Merseyside Integrated Care Board commissions local services. Alsager patients are usually treated at Leighton Hospital near Crewe or Royal Stoke University Hospital, and we provide private physiotherapy at home afterwards.
Alsager station sits on the Crewe to Derby line, and buses link the town with Sandbach, Kidsgrove and Crewe. Typical goals include walking round the Mere, through Milton Park or to the shops on Crewe Road.
The Salt Line is surfaced and almost level, so we often use it as a stepping stone between short walks around the estate and longer outings along the canal at Hassall Green.
Rode Heath, just to the east, has its own canal-side rise and Rode Hall estate nearby, and patients there often aim for the towpath walk between the two village locks.
