Physiotherapy Services in Auchtermuchty
We run the service from Harrow in north-west London; there is no Auchtermuchty premises to walk into. Sessions take place in your own home, and the clinician assigned to you may be travelling in from elsewhere. We can only confirm a visit once we know your full postcode and which therapists are free when you get in touch.
Auchtermuchty is a small royal burgh in north Fife, at the edge of the Howe of Fife farmland. It is known as the home of the accordionist Sir Jimmy Shand, commemorated by a bronze statue in the town centre, and as a filming location for the television series Doctor Finlay.
The town centre around the High Street is small and fairly level, with a few shops and the old town house. Walking there is a practical early goal for people recovering at home.
Rural lanes run out to Dunshalt and Strathmiglo, and the Lomond Hills rise to the south. The hills are a long-term goal for keen walkers.
Auchtermuchty is within NHS Fife. Surgery and emergency care are usually at the Victoria Hospital in Kirkcaldy or Ninewells in Dundee, and private home physiotherapy can carry on afterwards.
Many houses are traditional stone cottages with steep stairs and steps outside. We work with those features and suggest changes where helpful.
Without a railway station, getting about depends on buses and cars, so practising car transfers and bus steps is often part of our plan.
Winters can be cold and frosty, so a set of indoor exercises keeps things moving in the cold months.
The Cross Wynd and the old weaving cottages around Burnside give the town its narrow, winding shape, with small stone steps between levels. Practising those small steps, and turning safely in tight closes, often makes a bigger difference to daily confidence here than walking further along an open road.

Assessment and treatment of the pelvic floor to support bladder, bowel and core function.

Supporting people living with or recovering from cancer to rebuild strength and quality of life.

Personalised, evidence-based nutrition and dietetic support delivered in the comfort of your home by an HCPC-registered dietitian.
