Physiotherapy Services in Ballycastle
We run the service from Harrow in north-west London; there is no Ballycastle premises to walk into. Sessions take place in your own home, and the clinician assigned to you may be travelling in from elsewhere. We can only confirm a visit once we know your full postcode and which therapists are free when you get in touch.
Ballycastle is a seaside town on the north-east tip of County Antrim, looking across the sea to Rathlin Island and, on clear days, the Mull of Kintyre. It is famous for the Ould Lammas Fair, held every August since the seventeenth century.
The Diamond, at the top of the town, is surrounded by shops, pubs and the old Holy Trinity church. Ann Street slopes down from there towards the seafront, and walking it is a good measure of returning strength.
The promenade along the bay is flat and wide, with views of Fair Head and Rathlin. It is one of the most pleasant places in the area for steady outdoor walks, though wind can be strong.
Ballycastle is in the Causeway Coast and Glens council area, served by the Northern Health and Social Care Trust. Hospital care is usually at Causeway Hospital in Coleraine, and the Dalriada Hospital in the town offers some local services. Our private visits can continue care at home.
Housing ranges from terraces and Victorian villas near the seafront to bungalows and farmhouses in the surrounding glens. Many rural homes have steps, yards and gravel paths to deal with.
The Rathlin ferry leaves from the harbour, and the Carrick-a-Rede rope bridge and Giant's Causeway are within easy reach. Many residents enjoy these trips, and getting back to them is a common goal.
Armoy and Ballintoy are small villages inland and along the coast. Narrow lanes without pavements mean safe walking and car transfers are often part of the plan.
