Physiotherapy Services in Ballynahinch
We run the service from Harrow in north-west London; there is no Ballynahinch premises to walk into. Sessions take place in your own home, and the clinician assigned to you may be travelling in from elsewhere. We can only confirm a visit once we know your full postcode and which therapists are free when you get in touch.
Ballynahinch is a market town in County Down, set among drumlins between Belfast and the Mourne Mountains. It is best remembered for the 1798 Battle of Ballynahinch, when the United Irishmen were defeated on the hills around the town.
The Square and Main Street form a compact centre with shops, cafes and the market house. Walking from home to the Square is a common early goal for people who have been unwell or recently discharged.
The Montalto estate, on the southern edge of town, has woodland paths and a lake, and some routes are fairly level. It is a good place to build up outdoor walking once someone is steady on pavements.
Ballynahinch is in the Newry, Mourne and Down council area and served by the South Eastern Health and Social Care Trust. Many people are treated at the Ulster Hospital in Dundonald or the Downe Hospital in Downpatrick, and our private visits can continue care at home.
Homes range from terraces and townhouses near the centre to bungalows and farmhouses on the surrounding hills. Rural lanes rarely have pavements, so we often work on walking safely on uneven ground.
The village of Spa, just to the south, was once known for its mineral wells. Drumaness and Dromara are scattered across rolling farmland where getting in and out of the car is part of daily life.
Slieve Croob rises to the south-west, the source of the River Lagan. For keen walkers, returning to the foothills is often a long-term motivation.

Specialist home-based rehabilitation to improve movement, strength, balance and independence for people living with neurological conditions.

Helping older adults maintain mobility, strength and independence safely at home.

Safe, structured recovery after surgery to restore strength, mobility and function at home.
