Physiotherapy Services in Bedford
Home Physio And Rehab is based in Harrow, north-west London, and has no clinic or office in Bedford. Every appointment is a home visit, and the physiotherapist who visits you may be based elsewhere and travel to your home. Whether we can see you depends on your postcode and on therapist availability at the time you ask.
Bedford is the county town of Bedfordshire, set on the River Great Ouse. The Embankment, with its gardens, suspension bridge and tree-lined paths, is one of the finest riverside walks in the region and is almost completely level. The town centre around the High Street and Harpur Centre is also fairly flat.
Homes include Victorian terraces in Castle, Queens Park and De Parys, many with steep stairs, inter-war and post-war estates at Goldington and Brickhill, larger houses at Putnoe and Biddenham, and newer developments on the town's edges. Kempston lies to the south-west. We design our sessions around each home's stairs and layout.
Bedford is a very diverse town, with large Italian, Polish and South Asian communities among others. Priory Country Park has lakes and level paths, and Bedford Park lies north of the centre. Bedford station has trains to London and the Midlands. Goals often include walking along the Embankment, into town or managing the train again.
Bedford Hospital provides acute care for the town and surrounding area. We are independent of it and of the NHS, so please share your discharge summary and any precautions. We then build exercises around your recovery and the routes you want back.
Bedford's Embankment, with its suspension bridge and gardens, is one of the finest riverside walks in the region. The town has a large Italian community, many of whose families came to work in the brickworks after the war. Bedford Park, to the north, has a lake and open lawns. Homes include Victorian terraces in Queens Park and Castle, post-war estates in Kempston and newer homes at Wixams. We work towards goals such as reaching the river or the town centre. The Higgins Bedford, a museum and gallery near the castle mound, and the annual River Festival draw visitors from across the county.
