King's Lynn is a historic port town in west Norfolk on the Great Ouse, near the Wash. It was once a major Hanseatic trading port, and the Custom House, two market places and medieval merchants' buildings line its old streets. The town and its quayside are very flat, which makes walking easier to build up.
Homes include historic terraces near the centre and South Lynn, post-war estates at Fairstead, North Lynn and Gaywood, and larger houses at Reffley and the Woottons. Many older residents live in bungalows. Villages around the town rely on the car and buses. We design our sessions around the layout of your home.
The Walks, a historic park near the centre, has level tree-lined paths, and the quayside along the river is flat with views across to West Lynn, linked by a small ferry. King's Lynn station has trains to Cambridge and London. Goals often include walking to the market places, the quayside or managing the train.
The Queen Elizabeth Hospital in King's Lynn provides acute care for the area. We are independent of it and of the NHS, so please share your discharge summary and any precautions. We then build exercises around your recovery and the routes you want back.
King's Lynn is a historic port on the Great Ouse in west Norfolk, once a leading town in the Hanseatic trade. The Tuesday Market Place and the Saturday Market Place are framed by old merchants' houses and the Minster. The riverside along South Quay is level, and The Walks, a historic park near the centre, has tree-lined paths. Homes range from terraces near the centre to post-war estates at Gaywood and Fairstead and newer houses at South Wootton. Clients often want to reach the market or the quayside again. The Custom House on Purfleet Quay, built in the 1680s, is one of the town's best-known buildings and a good target for a short walk.
