Physiotherapy Services in Bodmin
We run the service from Harrow in north-west London; there is no Bodmin premises to walk into. Sessions take place in your own home, and the clinician assigned to you may be travelling in from elsewhere. We can only confirm a visit once we know your full postcode and which therapists are free when you get in touch.
Bodmin is a Cornish town on the edge of Bodmin Moor, and was the county town for much of its history. Bodmin Jail, built in the eighteenth century, is now a museum and hotel, and the Shire Hall houses the courtroom where famous trials were held. The town centre around Fore Street climbs gently along a slope, with the large parish church of St Petroc at one end.
Housing includes Victorian terraces and cottages near the centre, post-war estates such as Kinsman and St Lawrence, and newer developments at Callywith and Berryfields. The land rises towards the moor on one side, and some roads are steep. We plan each programme around your own home and the slopes you need to manage.
The Camel Trail, along an old railway line from Bodmin to Wadebridge and Padstow, gives long, level routes, and Priory Park, near the centre, has gentle paths and a lake. The Lanhydrock estate, south of the town, offers parkland walks. Bodmin Parkway station, a short trip away, has trains to Plymouth, Truro and London, and the Bodmin and Wenford Railway runs steam trains. Bodmin Riding, an old summer festival, still brings processions through the streets.
Most hospital care is at the Royal Cornwall Hospital in Truro or Derriford Hospital in Plymouth, with community services at Bodmin Community Hospital. NHS Cornwall and Isles of Scilly commissions services. We visit privately and can work alongside your community team.
