Physiotherapy Services in Bo’ness
We run the service from Harrow in north-west London; there is no Bo’ness premises to walk into. Sessions take place in your own home, and the clinician assigned to you may be travelling in from elsewhere. We can only confirm a visit once we know your full postcode and which therapists are free when you get in touch.
Bo’ness, short for Borrowstounness, is a former port and industrial town on the southern shore of the Firth of Forth in the Falkirk council area. The Antonine Wall reached its eastern end near here, and the remains of a Roman fortlet can be seen on the Kinneil Estate. James Watt worked on his early steam engine in a small workshop behind Kinneil House.
The town climbs steeply from the shore, with streets of Victorian villas, tenements and terraces stacked on the hillside above the old harbour. Post-war estates and newer housing sit higher up. Hills are unavoidable here, so planning the walk to the shops and back is often as important as exercises inside the home.
The Bo’ness and Kinneil Railway runs steam trains from the restored station on the shore, beside the Museum of Scottish Railways. The Hippodrome, opened in 1912, is Scotland’s oldest purpose-built cinema and hosts a silent film festival each spring. The foreshore path is flat and gives views across the Forth to Fife.
NHS Forth Valley provides hospital care, with Forth Valley Royal Hospital in Larbert as the main acute site. Falkirk Health and Social Care Partnership arranges community services, and our private home visits can continue any rehabilitation they started. There is no main-line station, so buses to Falkirk and Linlithgow matter.
Many residents worked in the docks, potteries, coal mines or Grangemouth refinery and now live with arthritis or breathing problems. We help them manage steep streets, stairs and getting out to the shops on the town’s main street.

Specialist home-based rehabilitation to improve movement, strength, balance and independence for people living with neurological conditions.

Helping older adults maintain mobility, strength and independence safely at home.

Safe, structured recovery after surgery to restore strength, mobility and function at home.
