Home Physio And Rehab is based in Harrow, north-west London, and has no clinic or office in Bridgwater. Every appointment is a home visit, and the physiotherapist who visits you may be based elsewhere and travel to your home. Whether we can see you depends on your postcode and on therapist availability at the time you ask.
Bridgwater is a historic market and port town in Somerset on the River Parrett, near the edge of the Somerset Levels. The town is flat, which makes walking easier to build up once strength returns. Its centre includes Cornhill, the old market house and the tall spire of St Mary's, and the town is known for its annual illuminated carnival.
Homes include Victorian terraces near the centre and in Victoria and Bower, post-war estates at Sydenham and Hamp, larger houses in Wembdon and Durleigh, and growing new developments on the edges of town. North Petherton lies just to the south. We plan around the stairs, rooms and outdoor routes of your home.
The Bridgwater and Taunton Canal has a flat towpath, and the riverside paths along the Parrett give level walking close to the centre. Blake Gardens is a small green space near the shops. Bridgwater station has trains to Taunton and Bristol. Goals often include walking into town, along the canal or managing the train again.
Bridgwater Community Hospital provides some local services, while acute care is mainly at Musgrove Park Hospital in Taunton. We are independent of the NHS, so please share your discharge summary and any precautions when we first talk.
Bridgwater sits on the River Parrett and hosts its famous carnival each November, one of the largest illuminated processions in Britain. The Bridgwater and Taunton Canal offers a flat towpath, and Blake Gardens is a pleasant spot for short walks. Homes include Victorian terraces near the centre and newer estates at Wembdon and Bower. Goals often involve walking to Cornhill, visiting family or watching the carnival again. The Admiral Blake Museum remembers the Commonwealth naval commander born in the town, and King Square, with its Georgian houses, lies near Castle Street.
