We can only confirm a visit once we know your full postcode and which therapists are free when you get in touch.
Bridlington is a seaside town on the East Riding coast, sheltered by the chalk headland of Flamborough. It has a working harbour, famous for its shellfish catch, and long sandy beaches stretching north and south. The promenades on either side of the harbour are mostly level and wide, which makes them excellent places to build walking stamina once you are steady outdoors.
The town has an older population than average, and many people live in bungalows, retirement flats or converted guest houses near the seafront. The Old Town, a mile or so inland around the Priory Church and High Street, has Georgian and earlier houses with steep, narrow stairs. Newer estates around Bessingby and Burton Fields have more modern family houses.
The Spa Bridlington, the harbour and the South Beach are common walking goals, and Sewerby Hall and its gardens, along the clifftop to the north, make a good longer target. The land train along the cliffs is a popular way to get there. Bridlington station has trains to Hull and Scarborough, and the town centre streets around Promenade and King Street are where most errands happen.
Bridlington Hospital, run by York and Scarborough Teaching Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust, provides planned surgery, rehabilitation and outpatient services, with acute care mainly at Scarborough Hospital or in Hull. NHS services are planned by the Humber and North Yorkshire Integrated Care Board. Our physiotherapy is independent, and we follow any advice you were given after an operation.
