Physiotherapy Services in Brighton & Hove
Home Physio And Rehab is based in Harrow, north-west London, and has no clinic or office in Brighton & Hove. Every appointment is a home visit, and the physiotherapist visiting you may travel to your home from elsewhere. Whether we can see you depends on your postcode and on therapist availability at the time you ask.
Brighton & Hove is a seaside city squeezed between the English Channel and the South Downs, and its own unitary council runs adult social care and equipment services. The seafront is flat, but the city rises quickly inland. Streets in Hanover and around Kemptown are some of the steepest in the south-east, while Preston Park, Withdean and Patcham climb gently towards the Downs and Portslade sits to the west beyond Hove. Woodingdean and Rottingdean lie on the hills to the east.
Housing is unusually varied. Regency and Victorian terraces often have steep steps up to the front door, tall narrow staircases and basement or top-floor flats; converted houses may have no lift at all. Elsewhere there are post-war estates, bungalows near the edge of the Downs and modern seafront blocks. A home visit lets your physiotherapist work on exactly the steps, stairs and doorways you face every day.
The Royal Sussex County Hospital on Eastern Road is the city's main acute hospital and treats serious injuries as well as emergencies. People also come home after care at other Sussex hospitals. We are independent of the NHS and do not receive your records automatically, so please share your discharge letter and any precautions.
As recovery continues, a common goal is the seafront promenade, which offers long, level walking with benches and shelters along the way. Hills come later: walking back up from the sea, reaching a hillside bus stop, or getting out on to the Downs again. Coverage varies by postcode and therapist availability.
